Rose Ogega

Founder and Managing Director, Bloom Consultancy

Rose is the founder and Managing Director of Bloom Consultancy Limited, an organization whose core purpose is to help leaders transform their personal leadership philosophy. She started her Career at Price water House 35 years ago and moved on to DHL International where she held different roles including the Finance Director for East Africa. She then retired at age 34 to start her journey of self discovery.
Rose who is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), is a certified Executive Coach and Mentor as well as a certified Hogan Leadership assessment practitioner. She has supported several leaders to unlock their authentic leadership potential over the last 12 years and Rose believes that true leadership is deliberately nurtured. She has a special interest in helping women deal with personal sabotage.
Rose also has over 18 years of board experience spanning through professional, large listed companies, large private companies, government Institutions and small/startup ventures. As a non-executive board director, she has worked very closely with senior executives on a broad range of strategic issues in a diverse array of industry setting including banking and Insurance. Her board philosophy is to create centers of excellence.

  • Board of Trustees chairperson, Mcfie educational fund (2015)

  •  Board Member and Chair of the Audit and risk committee, Safaricom  PLC (2019)

 

Her key past board positions include:

  • A  member of the inaugural board  of the Centre for Corporate Governance, an institution with a mandate to improve corporate governance in Kenya ( 2002 to 2007)

  • A Board Member and Chair of the Audit and Risk committee, Barclays Bank of Kenya Limited (2002 to 2015) ( First lady member in this board)

  • First lady Chairperson of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) between 2003 and 2005.

  • A member of the National Economic and Social Council (a team of local and international experts who formed the Kenya Presidential Advisory Council between the years 2005 and 2007). Credited for the  Kenya Vision 2030

  • The inaugural Chairperson for the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board ( A fund setup by the Government to help empower women at the bottom of the pyramid countrywide (2007 to 2010)

  • A Board Member and Chair of the Audit and Risk committee, Old Mutual Holdings Limited (2005 to 2017)

  • A Board member- Old Mutual assurance Company (2005 to 2017)

  • A Board member –Old Mutual Investments Group ( 2007 to 2017)

  • A Board Member and Chair of the Audit  committee, UAP Holdings Company East Africa ( 2015 to 2017)

  • Board Chairperson- Old Mutual Investment services  ( 2016 to 2018

 

Important Awards:

Rose has been awarded “The Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS)”, a Presidential award given to her in recognition of her contribution to the economic development of this country
