Rekha Chifuwe Mhango
Deputy Governor the Bank of Zambia
Rekha Chifuwe Mhango is the Deputy Governor in charge of Administration at the Bank of Zambia. As Deputy Governor - Administration, Mrs Mhango is responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction to the support functions in the Bank which include Finance, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Information and Communication Technologies, Legal Services, Procurement and Maintenance Services and Strategy and Risk Management. Her responsibilities also involve championing women advancement and gender equality in the workplace and promoting financial inclusion of women.
On the international fora, she is a member and current Chair of the Gender and Inclusive Finance Committee of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI). Mrs Mhango also sat on the Social Dialogue Committee of the International Labour Organisation for four years from 2016 – 2020.
Prior to her appointment as Deputy Governor, Mrs Mhango served as Director – Human Resources at the Bank of Zambia and had previous work experience of more than 15 years as a human resource professional in both the public and private sectors.
She holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from the National University of Singapore, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Zambia and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Lusaka.
