Omoke Adebanjo

Senior Vice President, Franchise, Middle-East & Africa, Mastercard

Omoke Adebanjo is the Senior Vice President, Franchise in MEA. In this role, she is responsible for successful governance of the Mastercard payment ecosystem in the region, this includes safety & security, operating standards management and compliance, onboarding and participation management, performance optimization and dispute resolution management.


This allows her provide thought leadership and value-creation around life-cycle management of ecosystem participants, explore new ways for the region to leverage Mastercard's brands and network, as well as support healthy business growth by preventing, detecting, and remediating risk.


Prior to this role, Omoke led the advancement of issuance and acceptance of Mastercard's payment products in the Anglophone West Africa cluster in a general management position. Based out of Lagos (Nigeria), she was responsible for business development, market development, business management, and operations for this area.


Omoke joined Mastercard in August 2011 as Vice President for Business Development in West Africa. As an experienced senior leader, Omoke was responsible for initiating and closing sales opportunities and accelerating the cluster's growth and profitability by developing and implementing the company's business development strategy and tactics. 


Before joining Mastercard, she had held several leadership positions in the banking and telecommunications industries, including a four-year tenure as Head of Cards and Product Development at Guaranty Trust Bank. In that role, she had responsibility for the end-to-end P&L including the full range of products and innovation for the payment card business. Prior to this, Omoke held other people management positions at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, and Econet Wireless Nigeria (later known as Vmobile Nigeria)



In 2019, Omoke was honored to be listed as one of the top 30 leading women in Nigeria's Fintech industry by Financial Technology as well as recognized as one of the 50 leading ladies in corporate Nigeria by Leading Ladies Africa.


Omoke holds a master's degree from Lagos Business School (Pan Atlantic University).
