Nancy Asiko Onyango

Dr. Nancy Onyango was appointed the Director, Office of Internal Audit and Inspection at the International Monetary Fund from February 2018. Prior to joining the Fund, Nancy was the CEO of Reliance Risk Advisory Solutions, a Board of Directors governance consulting entity which she founded. Prior to that, Nancy worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK, Europe, Asia and East Africa for over 25 years, and with EY as the Governance, Risk and Compliance Africa leader for 2 years. Nancy is also a Gender Leadership specialist. Her doctoral dissertation was on the “Perceived Barriers Faced by Women in Ascending to CEO Positions in Kenyan Corporations”.
Nancy holds a B. Comm (1st Class Honours), and an MBA (Management Information Systems) both from University of Nairobi, Kenya and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from USIU- Africa. She is also a qualified CPA, a Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) practitioner, Certified Information Systems Auditor Certified in Corporate Governance for Enterprise IT (CGEIT) from the ISACA International, and a Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from the global Institute of Internal Auditors.
Nancy is currently an independent member of Fairtrade America and Global Give Back Circle (USA) boards. She has also previously sat on Fairtrade Africa, Fairtrade International, Kenya Commercial Bank Group, Financial Sector Deepening Africa and Cytonn Investments Limited. She is also a Global Give Back Circle mentor to disadvantaged girls in Kenya.
