Director of Marketing and Communications for Sub Sahara Africa, Mastercard

Ify Dozie is an accomplished Marketing Director with a wide breath of sector experience within the FMCG industry and more recently in the payments technology industry. She is skilled in developing and implementing brand, marketing and communication strategies to deliver high quality integrated business solutions and in providing direction to organisations and brands in all aspects of traditional and non-traditional marketing. She also has a strong track record in the development of new business and holding large P & L responsibilities.

 

Key strengths are in pushing boundaries to create category defining brand strategies built on consumer insight and data on a global and local scale, communicating and influencing effectively with all stakeholders up to board level and building high performance teams.

Ify currently works at Mastercard as their Director of Marketing and Communications for Sub Sahara Africa. In this role she is responsible for the development of integrated marketing and communications strategy that drives Mastercard’s business performance, brand salience and reputation. Prior to this, she worked at Heineken for a period of 17 years, in senior marketing roles across multiple markets and regions in Europe and Africa. Over her career she has successfully built strong iconic brands that engage with consumers and customers and result in increased profit delivery for respective organizations.

She has won multiple Marketing awards, most notably a Cannes Award for a social media marketing campaign which she developed whilst she worked at Heineken. She has a law degree (LLB) from the University of Bristol and a master’s degree in international business (LLM) from Kings College London.

In her spare time, Ify enjoys sports, reading, traveling and mentoring young girls. She is passionate about capability development, youth empowerment and promoting African Art and she recently curated an Art Exhibition at Didi Museum which celebrated and showcased the private collection of Didi Museum, as well as a body of work by two prominent Nigerian artists.
