Africa Regional e-Conference for Leading Women in Banking and Finance
Time & Location
About the Event
Globally, corporates are gradually gaining an appreciation of the immense opportunity a diverse leadership team has on their overall performance. Increasingly, they are taking progressive steps to address gender imbalance in c-suite, board level and senior management positions in order to tap into diverse viewpoints that would spur innovation, creativity and profitability. World over, however, according to recent studies by The Gender Equality in the Workplace Report, only 21 per cent of women in listed companies occupy managerial position in the corporate sector; with about 22 per cent in totality holding board-level positions.
To address gender inequality in the region, Kenya Bankers Association developed the Leading Women
in Banking and Finance Initiative in 2016. Through the program, the Association holds quarterly
sessions in order to encourage dialogue to determine possible solutions to address
inequality and also sharpen the participants’ soft skills.
In October 2020, the Association will hold the Africa Regional Online Event for Leading Women in Banking and Finance.
The session, themed “Breaking Barriers and Redefining Leadership in Africa” will be attended by senior women executives from more than 10 countries. Through the symposium, participants will have a unique opportunity to network and learn from other executives and renowned leadership speakers.
